Lip Augmentation is used to enhance the appearance of thin, aged or asymmetrical lips. The treatment provides the perfect solution to achieving a naturally seductive and desirable pout. The lips can also be reshaped. Lip fillers create a natural and realistic finish.
Lip Augmentation / Enhancement can help with many issues for example:
⦁ Uneven Lips
⦁ Small Lips
⦁ Thin Lips
⦁ Define the cupids bow
⦁ ‘Smokers Lines’ can be smoothed
⦁ Rehydrate lips
Smoker’s or lipstick lines are small lines that etch the lips and may extend vertically from the lips. They are often first noticed when lipstick starts to ‘bleed’ out of the vermilion border into the vertical fine lines around the mouth. They are more prevalent on the upper lips.
Smoker’s lines occur as we grow older and the lip naturally starts to lose its volume, along with repetitive bunching of the tissue from muscular activity. Smoking does not necessarily cause smoker’s lines; physiological ageing in general cause lines, folds, and wrinkles in the lower face area, or anything below the eyes, to form.
As well as natural ageing, the effects of the sun can also develop and increase the lines around the lips. These lines are more likely to form in smokers due to the repeated pursing of the lips to draw from the cigarette. Smoking also breaks down the production of collagen, which in turn increases the appearance of wrinkles and causes the skin to thin.
Nasolabial Fold – are the creases that run from either side of the nose down towards the corners of the mouth. As we age, these become more noticeable due to the loss of volume from our cheeks, and mid and upper face. They can also be hereditary. These folds are more commonly seen in those with frequent or big smilers, and so also often referred to as ‘smile lines’ Filler is injected in the lines to create a more subtle, youthful appearance by restoring the loss of volume.
Marionette lines – are the creases that run from the corners of the mouth down towards the chin. As we age, they become more noticeable due to the loss of volume from our cheeks, and skin elasticity. These creases often cause a natural ‘sad’ look / expression. As we continue to age, it is common for these lines to progress to form jowls. Filler is injected in the lines to restore volume and create a more youthful appearance.
